Change the theme and accent colour#

  1. Open Settings, then Appearance.
  2. Under Theme, choose System, Light or Dark. System follows your device's light or dark setting.
  3. Under Accent, choose a colour: Jotifi blue, Indigo, Sky, Emerald, Amber or Pink. It colours buttons, selection and links.
On Phone

Tab bar style chooses between Floating, which sits above the content, and Bar, which spans the bottom edge.

Shown on an Android foldable; on an iPhone Duo the item's tools sit in a side bar on the right.

Choose what the sidebar shows#

On Desktop, Web, Tablet and Foldable
  1. Open Settings, then Sidebar.
  2. Turn off the rows you don't use, such as Upcoming or Whiteboards. Turn them on again the same way.
  3. To change the order, drag a row or a section by its handle (≡).

Reset to default shows every row again, in the original order. A hidden row is still one search away.

On Phone

Phones have a tab bar instead of a sidebar: see Choose your phone's tabs.

Choose your phone's tabs#

On Phone

The tab bar holds up to six tabs: five of your choice and Library, which is always last.

  1. Open Settings, then Tab bar.
  2. Under In the tab bar, drag a tab by its handle (≡) to move it, or turn its switch off to remove it. Keep at least two tabs besides Library.
  3. Under Other tabs, turn on a tab to add it. It goes just before Library.

Reset to default brings back Today, Projects, Tasks, All Notes, Search and Library. If you turn Search off, each main screen shows a search button instead.

On Desktop, Web, Tablet and Foldable

The tab bar is on phones. On a computer or tablet, see Choose what the sidebar shows.

Turn animations off or slow them down#

  1. Open Settings, then Animations.
  2. Turn Enable animations off to stop them, or move Speed towards Slower. There are seven steps, from Fast to Slowest.

If your device is set to reduce motion, Jotifi follows it. To use your own choice instead, turn on Ignore the system’s Reduce Motion.

Open Settings, then Editing:

  • Ask before deleting (on to start with): Jotifi asks before it deletes a task with subtasks, a note with sub-notes, a task list or a calendar. With it off, they go straight to Recently deleted for 30 days, and you can still undo. See Recent items and restoring deleted ones.
  • Generate link previews: when you paste a web address, this device fetches the page once to show a small preview. The people you share with never contact the site.
