Get started with Jotifi

Install Jotifi, sign in or create your account, and make your first project, task and note.

Jotifi keeps your notes, tasks, boards, calendars, whiteboards and spreadsheets together in projects, and syncs them between your devices. This article takes you from installing the app to your first project.

Get the app#

Jotifi is free to start with, and one account works everywhere:

Sign in or create an account#

There is no separate sign-up form. If you are new, the sign-in buttons create your account for you.

On Desktop and Web
  1. Open Jotifi. The first screen says "Welcome to Jotifi".
  2. Click Continue with Apple, Continue with Google or Continue with email.
  3. Finish signing in in the window that opens.
On Desktop

Apple on a Mac uses the sign-in built into macOS. Google, email, and Apple on Windows continue in your web browser; when you are done there, Jotifi opens again.

On Web

Sign-in continues in a pop-up window.

On Phone, Tablet and Foldable
  1. Open Jotifi. The first screen says "Welcome to Jotifi".
  2. Tap Continue with Apple, Continue with Google or Continue with email.
  3. Follow the steps that appear, then come back to Jotifi.

On iPhone, iPad and Mac, Apple is listed first. Continue with email signs you in, or signs you up, with your email address and a password on a secure Jotifi page.

By continuing, you agree to Jotifi's Terms of Service and acknowledge its Privacy Policy. Both are linked under the buttons.

Watch the tour#

The first screen has a video tour of about three minutes. Select Watch the tour to play it. A new, empty workspace offers the tour again on Today.

To watch it later, open Settings, then Help and support, then Learn Jotifi.

Create your first project#

A new workspace starts empty. Today says "Your workspace has no projects yet", because everything in Jotifi lives in a project: a project holds your boards, notes, spreadsheets, calendars and whiteboards.

On Desktop and Web
  1. On Today, click New project. You can also click New project under Projects in the sidebar.
  2. Type the project's name.
  3. Pick a colour and an icon. Type in Find icon to search the icons.
  4. Click Create project.
On Phone
  1. On Today, tap New ProjectNew project.
  2. Type the project's name.
  3. Pick a colour and an icon. Type in Find icon to search the icons.
  4. Tap ✓ at the top right.
On Tablet and Foldable
  1. On Today, tap New ProjectNew project.
  2. Type the project's name.
  3. Pick a colour and an icon. Type in Find icon to search the icons.
  4. Tap Create project.

Add your first task or note#

On Desktop and Web

At the top right of Today, click New, then choose Task or Note. The menu lists every kind of item you can make; Create in at the bottom picks the project it goes in.

On Phone

On Today, tap + at the top right, then tap Task or Note. The menu lists every kind of item you can make; Create InCreate in at the bottom picks the project it goes in.

On Tablet and Foldable

On Today, tap + in the toolbar at the top, then tap Task or Note. The menu lists every kind of item you can make, and the project it goes in.

Next steps:

Use Jotifi on your other devices#

Install Jotifi on your other devices and sign in with the same account: the same button (Apple, Google or email) you used the first time. Your projects appear and stay in sync. You can keep working without a connection; changes sync when you are back online. See Sync and working offline.

If the first screen lists a workspace you used before on that device, select it to sign back in to it. To learn how workspaces work, see Switch and create workspaces.
