Each note has a few properties beside its text: a status, an optional date, its tags and the place it was written. They are kept in the note's Details, so the page shows only your writing. Details also show the word count, who owns the note, when it was created and last edited, and who it is shared with.

Open a note's details#

On Desktop and Web

Click ⓘ at the top right of the note, or press ⌥⌘ICtrlAltI. The details open in the pane on the right. Click ⓘ again to close them.

On Tablet and Foldable

Tap ⓘ in the toolbar at the top of the note, or tap ⋯, then Details. The details open beside the note.

On Phone

Tap ⓘ at the top right of the note, next to ⋯. You can also tap ⋯, then Details. Note Details opens over the lower part of the screen, with the note still in view above it. Drag it up to see the rest.

The Properties group at the top has Status, Entry date, Tags and Location. About this note follows, with the word count, owner, dates and who the note is shared with, then In this note: the tasks, boards, images and files inside it. The Activity tab shows the note's history.

Shown on an Android foldable; on an iPhone Duo the item's tools sit in a side bar on the right.

Set a note's status#

A status says where a note is in your writing process: Draft, In review, Published or Archived. Every note starts as a draft.

On Desktop and Web
  1. In the note's details, click the status next to Status, for example Draft.
  2. Choose a status.

You can also click ⋯ at the top right of the note, then Status.

On Phone, Tablet and Foldable
  1. In the note's details, tap the status next to Status, for example Draft.
  2. Tap a status.

You can also tap ⋯ at the top right of the note, then Status.

The status shows in the notes list, so you can see at a glance which notes are finished.

Give a note a date#

A note's date is the day it is about, such as the date of a meeting or a diary entry. You can add a short label to it, such as "Launch day".

On Desktop, Web, Tablet and Foldable
  1. In the note's details, select Add date next to Entry date, or the date already shown.
  2. Choose the day.
  3. To add a label, select Add label next to the date.
On Phone
  1. In the note's details, tap Entry date.
  2. Choose the day.
  3. Type a label in Date label (optional) if you like.
  4. Tap Save.

A note with a date shows on that day as an all-day entry in calendars that include its project. To hide notes from a calendar, turn off Notes with a date in the calendar's list of what it shows. See Use calendars.

Tag a note#

On Desktop, Web, Tablet and Foldable

In the note's details, select Add tag next to Tags, then choose tags. To take a tag off, select it, then Remove tag.

On Phone

In the note's details, tap Add tag next to Tags (or Edit when the note has tags), then choose tags.

See Favourites and tags for creating and managing tags.

Add or change a note's place#

When you create a note, Jotifi records where you are, once, if you have allowed it to use your location. You can set or change the place at any time.

On Desktop and Web
  1. In the note's details, click Add location next to Location, or the place already shown. The location editor opens beside it.
  2. Search for an address under Search address, click Use current location, or drag the pin on the map.
  3. Click Save location.
On Tablet and Foldable
  1. In the note's details, tap Add location next to Location, or the place already shown. The location editor opens beside it.
  2. Search for an address under Search address, tap Use current location, or drag the pin on the map.
  3. Tap Save location.
On Phone
  1. In the note's details, tap Location.
  2. Search for an address under Search address, tap Use current location, or drag the pin on the map.
  3. Tap the tick at the top right, or Save location under the map. ✕ closes the editor without saving.

See your notes on a map#

Notes with a place can be shown as pins on a map, so you can find what you wrote where. Notes from the same place share one pin: select it to choose a note.

  2. At the top of the items column, click ⋯, then under Notes view choose Map.
